Damages Claim Against John L. Lewis

Received Sunday 7 p.m, NEW YORK, Dec. 3. A claim for 500,000 dollars against John L. Lewis. president of the United Mineworkers' Union, was filed xn the Federal Court today by the six Preskrtf Brothers, coalmine operators, of Bu mingham, Alabama. Plaintiffs' alleged that an armed mob of "200 to 500" attaeked the brothers in a two-hour gun battle wbile they were mining coal at their mine during the Septeraber coal strike. They also ambushed eustomers, The suit further " alleged that Sheriff Grover Baggett, of Walker Countv, com spired with che union to deny the proteetion of the law to the Preskitts. Oue memher of the Mineworkers' Union was killed during the battle.
