BABY DIES WHEN BATHED BY CHILDREN

BLENHEIM, Dec. 3. A five- and a half months old baby was taken from its cot yesterday afternoon by some , young children and given a bath. An hour later- it died in hospital from shock. The baby was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Gardiner, of Churchill Street, Blenheim. He was put in his cot by his mother at 5 p.m. and during her temporary absense some children removed the child, undressed it, and placed it in a bath into which hot and cold taps.were running. An older child made the discovery and rushed to summon the mother. The baby by this time was unconscious and it was rushed to the Wairau Hospital, where it died soon after admission.
