Manstein Trial Nearing End
BBRLIN, Nov. 30. Marshal von Manstein should be eonvicted as a war criminel because hei could have preyented many of the atroeities eommitted by his troops on the Eastern front, said Sir Arthur Oomyns-Carr at the trial in Hamburg in his final address for the prosecution. Von Manstein, he said, was so intent pn ^glorifying his military aehievements that he could not bring himself to risk his job. Many of IHtler '? criminal orders could have beeu stopped if men like von Manstein had stood together against him and taken their chance.
