Political Brakes Released In Germany

A tripartite deeision has been taken to abolish all Allied restrictions on the formation of political parties in Western Germany, says The Times' Frankfurt correspondent. It has already taken effect in the American Zone where 'lieences will no longer be required and it is thought restrictions in the Britisn and French Zones will be removed soon. ) The Amefican Higli Commissioner, Mr JMcCloy, described the withdrawal ' of the restrictions as a democratiu 'action. He said the AJlies could stil! take action under thei reserved powers against any neonazi or strongly nationalist party but it now lay primarily with the Germans themselves to prevent sueh developments.
