Churchill: The Happy Warrior
Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Nov, 36. Newspapers hailed Mr. Winston Churchill on hi& 75th birthday as "the greatest living Englishman" and "the happy warrior." The Daily Mail wrote: "He has done more, seen more and known more than any other statesman of his time. .He has lived seyeral full lives rolled into one. He has made his mistakes and, like his triumphs, they have been on the heroic scale." The Daily Express: "If half the people of the world are free they owe their freedom more to this man than to any other. If the other half still have hopes of freedom. their hopes are centred on him." The Daily Telegraph: "Not the least astonishing feature 'of an astonishing career is, that Mr. Churchill, at the age of 75, can look not only back but also fprward. Very many millions not only in his own country, base their most cherished hopes on his ruture."
