CHILD DROWNED AT ROTORUA.
AUCKLAND, Nov. 20. A Maori child, Tommy Wharerata, aged 2, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Wharerata, was drowned in Lake Rotorua this morning. The child was with some other children who were swimming m the lake near Kotu. He got into difficulties and one of the children pulled him out and applied artiflcial respiration without success.
