Union Orders Bakers To Return To Work
AUCKLAND, Nov. 18. Bakers employed by Walter Buchanan Ltd., who ceased work this week when an emplovee of the finn was dismissed, have been ordered bv' their union to return to duty at norrnal times on Sunday and early on Monday morning. The order, signed by the president of the Bakers' and Pastrvcooks' Union, Mr E. J. Watson, and the secretary, Ylr F. H Bourke, was issued after a meeting ot the executive and will be discussed at a meeting of tho men at the bakehouse tomorrow morning. Several conferences were held today in an effort to settle the dispute but they were to no avail. Strong hopes are held that tomorrow 's meeting of the men wTiIl resut in a settlement of the dispute and the tesumption of deliveries from the bakery on Monday morning.
