Visitors to the 1951 Festival of Britain will he able to* send radio signals to the moon and. hear them reflected hack to earth again within a few seconds, said Mr Gerald Barry director-general of the exhibition, when giving further details of the Festival 's attractiofis; The signals will be sent from the summit of the oid shot tower, the only original building J-on the festival site preserved for the-'exhioition. ' - A giant radio telescope resembling a large umhrella, will be erected on * the summit of the tower and visitors, in addition to heing able to send signals to the moon, will he ahle to hear ; radio waves reflected hack from other ' stars.
