Amethyst Heroes Decorated By King

Received Friday, 11 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 17. The men of H.M.S. Amethyst ended their long journey from the upper Yangtze m the white and gold State ballroom of Buckingham , Palace, where the King decorated Lieut.-Commander John Kerans and other members of the ship's company. The Queen and Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret heard the King say to them: "I am well satisfled that the men in my Services have once more shown that they are alive to the heavy responsibility they bear, and that they are ready to defend our country's honour to the end."
