Gladioli Club's Meeting
». — The monthly meeting of . the Levin Gladoli Club attraCted the usual good attendance, including Mr. H. Stokes, of Tokomaru, who* is a member of the executive of the North Island Gladioli Society. During the evening he acted as ,* quiz master and answered many questions relating to hybridising and the work of the council. A paper on work for the month was read, dealine with inier-roW' cultivaition, feeding, watering , in the early stages and spraying. The schedule for the forthcoming weekly s'hows was drawn u.pwith classes for one, two- and three spikes. exhibition and twospikes decorative in both open and novice sections. There is to be a limit of one entry per person in each class and entrance is free. Mr. S'.okes presented a valua-ble > trophy ai a points prize for competition at the shows. The growing membership of the club 'has proved gratifying to the executive, which invites anyone interested in the growing of better gladiolus to join. The next meeting is to be held on December 14.
