Nearly Eight Million Face Starvation In India
Received Thursday, 10 a.m. LONDON, Nov. 16. The Associated Press* Madras correspendent says that nearly 8,000,000 people faee starvation following typhoons which have laid waste the coastal districts of four eastern States. Last month a 10ft. tidal wave washed aiyay the entire paddy crop and eost 1000 lives. Normally this area has a rice surplus, but 1,000,000 acres of eropland has been destroyed.
