Power Extensions Continue At Heavy Rate
♦ During October 73 new service lines had been run, 10 existing services altered and eight temporary services connected. This was stated by the engineer of the Horowhenua Eiectric Power Board, Mr. J. F. Bryce, in his monthly report to the board yesterday. Power poles numbering 92 had been carted, fitted and erected, and 17 poles removed. Fifteen of the removals were due to alterations and two were renewals, he added Continuing, the engineer stated that during the month 82 applications had been received for new connections, comprising 80 lighting and heating installations, 37 ranges, 35 waterheaters, three milking motors, three separatol" motors, five pump motors and 10 industriai motors. Ninety-eight applications had 'been received for extensions, including 51 lighting points, 76 heating points, five ranges, 15 waterheaters, five pump motors and 14 industriai motors. During the month 74 new consumers and 45 extensions had been connected, comprising 67 lighting and heating installations, 41 ranges, 45 waterheaters, four milking motors, three separator motors and 27 industriai motors. The total increase in connected load for the month was 734 k.w. Eighteen temporary connections for huilders had been made. New installations were connected in the following areas: — Levin 25, Foxton 10, Shannon three, Otaki six. Te Horo-Waikanae 9 and Parapairaumu-Paekakariki 21, coneluded Mr. Bryce.
