Electricity Revenue Shows Small Increase

Revenue for the first seven months of the financial year had totalled £64,570, an increase of £2614 on the same period of 1948, said the managing-secretary, Mr. R. A. Frederikson, In a report to tne monthiy meeting of the Horowhenua Eiectric Power Board yesterday. Once again the current meter reading had shown a very small increase. Ignoring the larger indusuriai accounts which were rendered quarterly, it was found that for the last two meter readings, which covered the whole district, 'the increase in revenue was £105, he stated. This increase was remarkabiy low, when it was appreciated that during the past 12 months 633 consumers had been added, including 406 ranges and 387 waterheaters. - The increase for the previous year was 466 consumers, (342 ranges and 357 waterheaters) From the foregoing figures, continued Mr. Frederikson, ic was obvious t'fiat rationing was functioning quite satisfactorily. He said that he was most please,d to report that the number o.f notices required regarding excess consumption had decreased to approximately two per cent.
