- AUOJvuai\JL>, inuv. it. A 26-year-old-woman was found shoi dead in the backyard of her home in Sehool Road, Waimauku, 30 miles north of Auckland, at 1 o 'clock th.itmorning. A rifle was lying by the side of the body. She was Miss Jean Rob bins. At an inquest opened today beforc the City Cotoner (Mr A. Addison), Mrs Isabella Robbins, the young woinan's mother, gave evidence that she arrived home from the city at about 9.30 o 'clock last night. Her daughter had visitors in the kitehen. Witness weni j to bed and her daughter entered at lo i o 'clock and offered her a drink. She , awakened about midnight on hearing her daughter and one of the visitors going outside. Later she heard a man named Frederick Mays ealling for Jean. She found Mays- searehing out side in the darkness and soon after she stumbled over the body. A doctor was called, but the -daughter was dead. The inquest was adjourned.
