Market Gardeners To Fight For Their Land

AUCKLAND, Nov. 13. Market gardener-s and fruit growers of Rosebank Road, Avondale, sent an Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, requesting immediate action to stop the Auckland Harbour Board from proceeding with its announced intention to take over a large number of properties at Avondale. The board proposes to aequire pyer 1000 acres on the Te Atatu and Rosebank Road peninsulas in the upper harbour area. Fifty property owners have formed the Rosebank Peninsula Property Proteetion Association and the telegram sent by the secretary, Mr D. R« Connell, said the board 's proposal was apparently for land speculation purposes and asked Mr Fraser to repiy by telegram.
