Police Have To Fire On Rioting Africans

Received Sunday, 7 p.m. CAPE TOWN, Nov. 12. One African was killed and one seriously injured when police opened iire on non-European rioting during a search for illieit liquor at the Randfontain loeation 20 miles from Johannesburg tonight. A third African was shot in the leg. The disturbanee began when the Africans stoned three polieemen earrying out the search. When 20 more police arrived they were attacked by 500 Africans whom they drove back in baton charges. The Africans counterattacked persistently and the police were ordered to open fire.
