Rose Show Entries Close On Monday

The Levin Horticultural Society holds its annual rose show in the Regent Hall on Tussday. Entries for both the show and cottage garden compeLition close with the secretairy, Mr. A. O. Powell, at 5 p.m. on Monday. With suoh a favourable growing season, the display should be >an outstanding one. The schedule contains * sections for roses, cut btooms, decorative work, childfen's decorative, arts and crafts (college and school pupils under 18 years), native flora and fruit and vegetables. The cottage gardens and cut blooms are to be judged by the former director of Wellington parks and reserves, Mr. J. G. McKenzie, of Otaki, the fruit and vegetables by Mr. J. M. Hopkins and the roses by Mr. L. Lannie. One of the features of the show on this occasion will be a display of native flora by the Levin School's Native- Flora Cluib.
