Manawatu River Boat Race To Be Held Again
Mr. D. Dilks, the veteran organIser of the Manawatu 1 River boat race from Palmerston North to Foxton Beach is busy arranging for another similar event to take place on Boxing Day and invites entries from all interested. In conversation with our representative, Mr. Dilks said that if he received suflQcient encouragement he would stage three classes this year: One rower, two rowers and three or more. The reoord for the trip stood at 8 hours 13 minutes and an attempt would be made to lower it this year. The race was worth-£10 a sum in this amount having been donated by Mr. Heatley. There were also the Paddle and the Coley Cup to compete for. Anyone interest in ohtaining further particulars may do so by contacting the Manawatu Boating Olub ot Mr. Dilks, 15 Donnington Street, Palmerston North.
