Australia"* has invited New Zealand and the United Kingdom to confer at Canberra this week on the Southeast Asian situation, the Minister of External Affairs (Dr Evatt) announced toni£ht. The secretary of the New Zealand External Affairs Department (Mr A. D. Mclntosh) and the head of the Far Eastern seetion of the United Kingdom Foreign Ofifice, Mr Denning, would join Australian diplomats from all points of the Pacifie, said Dr Evatt. "Reports will be received and views exehanged in relatipn to the whoie situation in Southeast Asia and the , Pacific and the possibility of pushing on with the peace treaty for Japan and the position in Indonesia. " j Dr Evatt will head the Australian ' deleuation.
