Colourful Stalls Displayed At Church Fair

Seven gaily decked stalls laden to capacity with very acceptable goo'ds attracted a large number of people to St. Mary's Hall yesterday afternoon, where the St. Mary's Guild held its annual sale of work in aid of parish funds. The many visitors who attended the sale proved willing buyers, thus assuring the success of the effort. In officially opening the function, the vicar of Foxton, Rev. M. J. S. Wheeler, congratulated all those who had given their assistance and made the bazaar the success it was. He then wentvpn to say that an important part of any person's spiritual life was some social outlet. Bazaars, such as the one yesterday served admirably to that en'd. Those who assisted in the various stalls were as follows: — Vicar's stall: Rev. G. B. Stote-Blandy and Mr. A. O. Powell; work stall: Mesdames O. Nicholl, W. Gordon and M. Mulcahy; cake stall: Mesdames H. T. Tilyard and Mearing; flower stall: Mrs. Duguid and Miss Twisleton; sweet stall: Mesdames H. L. Jenkins and G. Glover; fancy stall: Mesdames W. Bull, E. Williams and F. Denham; produce stall: Mesdames J. Henderson, L. Phillips and A. Hayward; tea rooms: Mesdames T. C. De Mey, A. O. Powell, H. Noble, R. McGarry, W. Dalzell, H. Bull, H. Harvey, D. P. Todd, C. Collier, C. Simmons and W. G. Phillips. During the evening a dancing recital was given in the hall by the pupils of Miss Jean Scott.
