It was unfortunately too late as the arrangements for the changeover were now too far advanced. In his report on the "triangle, the overseer, Mr. E. Lycette, said that in the early hours of Monday morning he had received a telephone call from the Levin statipnmaster, Mr. A. Hayward, to say that a large mob of sheep had invaded the triangle gardens. He had risen from bed and gone' there immediately, but the sheep had disappeared. It had taken him two hours to replant the plants kiched out by the sheep, while some of the plants had been destroyed. It was the first time he had known of sheep wandering so near the town. The council decided to write to the stationmaster, thanking him for teleohoning the council. . .
