Investigation Moves Rapidly But No Arrest Yet
(Speeial to "Chronicle")
EUaIUW, NOV. O. Though extensive police investigations have continued ceaselessly since the discovery of the battered body of Mrs. Hall, no arrest had been made up to midday today. The machinery of investigation moved at a fast pace throughout yesterday and last night, and a very large number of persons had been interviewed and fingerprinted. A thorough examination of the house and furniture had not disclosed any cache of money, the police said last night. A very large heap of various papers had not yet been sorted out. The force of Palmerston North detectives working on the case was augmented yesterday by the arrival of Detective-Sergeant C. Urquhart and Sergeant Craigie, of Wellington. The funeral of the victim took place today from All Saints' Church, impressive services being conducted by 'Rev. M. J. S. Wheeler.
