Waitarere Institute Meets
A feature of a recent meeting of the Waitarere Women's Institute was a demonstration on recovering an eiderdown, given by Miss Dynan, of Levin. The demonstration proved to be most instructive and was appreciated by all present. It was reported that a number of parcels containing soap an'd biscuits had been sent to the link in England and as a further gift two Christmas cakes had also been sent. Another parcel had been packed and despatched to Corso headquarters. The roll call, "Where I met my husband," brought forth some amusing experiences. Competition results were as follows: — Article from a sugar bag: Mrs. Speirs 1, Mrs. H. Benning 2, Mrs. Janson 3. Individual salad: Mrs. Stanley 1, Mrs. Coleman 2, Mrs. Fletcher 3. Best bloom: Mrs. Stanley 1, Mrs. Janson 2, Mrs. Fletcher 3. Mystery' parcel: Mrs. Speirs. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. and Miss Stanley.
