News From Paraparaumu

("Chronicle" Correspondent) The already excellent bus service between Paraparaumu district and Paekakariki has been extended and if well patronised they will become part of the regular time-' table. A bus leaves Paraparaumu at 6.30 a.m. daily from Mon'days co Fridays inclusive to connect with the 7.13 a.m. train to Wellington, while on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday a bus leaves to connect with the 9.12 a.m. train to Wellington. Buses to convey passengers who have returned from Wellington will now leave Paekakariki 'for Paraparaumu at 2.10 p.m. on the latter four days, and from Monday to Friday one will leave for Paraparaumu at 4.43 p.m. A very successful flower show was held in the Raumati Hall recently, when an excellent display of locally grown flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables was seen. At the end of the function these were auctioned for the benefit of the Paraparaumu Beach Beautifying Society, which had sponsored the effort. An artistic dish of flowers; and leaves, representing the1 emblem of the Women's Division of Federated Farmers, was one of the novel features of the exhibition and was much admired. A chess club, to be known as the Kapiti Chess Club, has been formed at Raumati. Dr. and Mrs. Marshall, of Paraparaumu, have returned from a hoiiday at the Chateau Tongariro. Dr. Glenn, of Wanganui, acted as locum tenens during Dr. Marshall's absence.
