pci'SODcll Mrs. B. Norrie and her small -son, Terry, of Auckland, have been spending a short hoiiday in Otaki renevving acquaintances. Mrs. Stevenson, daughter of Mrs. H. Gordon, of Aotaki Street, is on a holi'day visit to Otaki from Australia. Mr. Les. M. Murphy, "The Chronicle's" Wellington racing correspondent, who has been in Napier for the past ten days, underwent an operation in the Napier Hospital on Friday. It is riot lcnown at present when he will be able to return to Wellington. Cyclist For Empire Games. Congratulations will be extended to "Chum." Bloomfield, a former Otaki cycle rider, wha is among the team of five selected to take part in the Empire Games, as a Manawatu representative. Quiet Guy Fawkes. Following early activity, persistent showers caused Guy Fawkes celebrations on Saturday night to conclude much earlier than would have been. the case. The fireworks displays in and around Otaki were brought to an early close.
