Royal Show Awards Come To Horowhenua

Stock breeders of the Horo whenua district figured prominently in the list of awards of the 1949 Royal Show, which concluded in Palmerston North on Saturday. Among the successes were the following:— Jerseys: Alan Horn and Sons, champion yearling heifer, four firsts, three seconds, two thirds, one v.h.c.; H. VJ. Lancaster and Son, two firsts, one second, one third, two v.h.c.'s; J. G. Horn (Ohau), two seconds, two thirds; A. Hudson and Sons, one first; H. J. V. Nicholson (Manakau), one third.

Ayrshires: A. and M. Scott, two firsts, one third; D. L. Corigan (Te Horo), one first, one second, one third; C. E. C. Webb, two v.h.c's. Friesians: R. W: Horne, two firsts, two seconds, one v.h.c.; Boys' Training Centre (Levin )\ two v.h.c's. ; B. S. Kyle (Otaki), one second, two v.h.c's; F. O. Malcolm, one second, four thirds. Galloways: E. R. Winkler, champion and reserve .champion bull, two firsts, one v.h.c.; R. J. Law and Son (Shannon) , champion cow; two firsts, one second, one third. Saddle ponies: Alan Butt, ohe i third.

Southdowns: g. w. Muniora (Shannon), four thirds, v.h.c. Dorset Horn: H. F. Hall, one second, two thirds. Cheviots: B. R.
