Received Friday 5.10 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 4. Sir Hartley Shaweross, British At-torney-General, who has been attending the United Nation^ Assembly in New . York, said when he arrived at ' Southampton last night in the Liner Queen Mary that the Assembly was not j making much progress. j "There were many bitter speeehes between the representatives for the Eastern European countries and the rest of the world," he declared. But he thought the Assembly was healthier and stronger than it had been and was less frightened bv Soviet threats. "The Russians still tend to use United Nations as a propaganda platform, but there is no doubt they attach | much importance to it and are not entirely uninflueneed by the decisions it reaches," Sr Hartley added.
