Followiiig the rather inclement weather of Labour weekend, the local women's club held a successful opening ceremony in perfect weather. Rinks from Levin and three Palmerston North clubs were present, and the president of the Manawatu Centre, Mrs Woodroofe, replied to the welcome extended by the , local president Mrs. C. . M. Cronquest, and gave the players much friendly advice and wished the club a happy season. , Playing conditions on the local greens are now excellent and* it is expected that this season will be one of the best for many years. •s*
