A successful clothes drive for Corso was held throughout the Shannon district last Saturday morning, when members of . the local Red Cross committee," assisted by drivers of cars and twelve senior pupils of the school, who acted as runners, receive'd. contributions froni a generous public, Eight large cartons of excellent clothing, including many overcoats, were packed and dispatched to Wellington, together with cash donations amounting to £8. A furbher carton of clothes is ;on hand to be * dispatched as soon as some slight repairs have been completed, while promises of more parcels are toeing received daiiy 'by the committee. The organisers express their thanks to those citizens who made their. cars available for the morning, to the school pupils for their enthusiasm in the drive, to all who have generously supported the effort and to the business firms who kindly provided cartons and twine.
