Entertaining Athletics On Opening Night
Before a very satisfaetory first night attendance, the evening sports organised hy the Otaki Amateur Athletic and Cycling' Club commenced on Wednesday at the Otaki Domain. Some very fine sport was witnessed, with many of the finishes keen for so early in the season. The collection amounted to £4 14s 9d and at the conclusion of the programme the president, Mr. F. Edwards, thanked the public for its attendance and support, and called on the three Otaki riders who gained awards in the Otaki-Wellington 50-mile junior road race to receive their trophies. Earl Walsh, Warren Walsh and Sidney Snowdon were all given a rousing round of applause. Results are as follows: — Girls' races. — J. Dakin 1, J. Bills 2, M. Lindsay 3; J. Bartosh 1, Y. Maddock 2, R.
