' The charred remains of ('ari Frederick (.'arlson, aged about 42, single, a rabbiter, vvere found this niorning after a fire liad destroyed his hiit at Lindis Pass about 45 miles from Croinvveii. Air C'arlson had been eniployed as a raljbiter in tlie district for about 20 vears. Ile vvas a returned servicenian I" ro m the last vvar. It is understood his relatives live at Oamaru. An inquest will be opened at Cromwell this niorning.
