Warmest Swimming Opening For Five Years

The .swimming' season in Levin opened on Tuesday morning in the warmest conditions for. the past five seasons. The temperature of the water was 64 degrees, six degrees above last year's opening. Yesterday saw the temperature at 66 degrees. The custodian of the baths, Mr. F. Taylor, said that there were II hardy first-day swimmers on deck at 7 a.m. The first in the water was Trevor Baylis. Both adults and children were represented. Oi> Wednesday morning there were some eight in the water at 7 a.m. In the afternoon the baths were besieged by school children. The Levin Borough Couneil reports that few applications have as yet been made for season tickets.
