Swimming Club's Season Will Open On Wednesday
(By "Freestyle") | Weather permitting, the Levin Swimming Club will open its new season on Wednesday, November' 9. An endeavour is being made to obtain suitable swimming films which will be shown following the opening. Details of this will be advertised next Monday. Members of the -club are asked to watch the notice' board at the baths for information which will be poste'd from time to time. It is the intention of the club to use both the schcol and the Coronation Baths for instructional purposes on Saturday mornings. Learners — and this means those who cannot. swim — will use the school baths and those who can swim but wish to improve and train will, use the Coronation
Baths. Those requiring furthef details are asked to Contact the club secretary, Miss P. Wills. At the annual meeting of theManawatu Centre advice was received that the certificates won by the centre title holders would be issued in the near future. The local club's carnival is set down for a Saturday aft.emoon, either on February 18 or >25, with a dance to follow in the evening. It is the 'desire of the club to further increase its membership. Intending members are asked to contact an-y member of the. eommittee or the club. secretary. Active members are advised to obtain from the Levin Borough Council's office their season tickets for the use of the baths, as the committee, has been instructed to allow only those who have them to participate on club nights. It is pointed out that it is definitely a financial ^advantage to have season tickets.
