Softball Season Opens With Field Day
The Horowhenua Softball Association opened its season on Saturday with a field day at Cambridge Park. There was a gooc attendance of the public and some interesting games were witnessed during the day. The resmts were as foilows:— - Senior Men. - . . First round: Wanderers 14, Punahau 7; Pirates 11, Achilles 8; Athletic 13. Kimberley 9; Ajax, a bye. ' - ' Second round: Achilles A 9, Wanderers 8; -Pirates 9, Punahau 1; Kimberley 19, Ajax 7; Athletic, a bye. Ladies and Junior Men, - First round: Achilles B 23, Wanderers Ladies 6; Punahau 9, Kimcerley B .4; Aces Juniors 7, Wanderers Stars 7. Second round: Wanderers Stars 8, Achilles B 4; Aces Juniors won by default; Punahau 8, Aces Juniors 6.
