The Scottish clan Chattan, the association of which he is a life member, notified George Bernard Shaw of a dinner and dance which the association is holding in London on Novemher 11, "but Mr. Shaw won't be there. His reply in own handwriting on a postcard reads: "Please note I am in my ninetyfourth year, and stop bothering me with ridiculous invitations to dance Scottish reels and the like.
