Attractive Prize Offered Carnival Queen
A free tour of Australia will be the attrac.ive prize awaiting the successful candidate in • a Queen Carnival soon to be held in Horowhenua. The carnival is to be the combined effort of the St. ( John Ambulance JBrigade and the Levin-Waitarere Surf Life-saving Club, whose object is to raise funds to complete their respective buiiding plans. The prize for ;the candidate winning second place is a tour of New Zealand. The appeal will cover a wide area from as far north as Foxton to the most southern point at Paraparaumu, and it is hoped will realise the sum of £6000. There is to be a joint committee meeting on November 1 to make final arrangements for the carnival, but it is thought that Levin will provi'de four candidates and all other centres one. The actual campaign is due to commence after the Ohristmas pefiod.
