Children Collecting With No Authority
WELLINGTON, October 19. _ "Private enterprise" on a big seale through which some Wellington children are augmenting their poeket money with sums varying from 10s to £17 through house to house collections on behalf of non-existent appeals, has come-to the notiee of Wellington headmasters and the police. The question was diseussed at a meeting of the Wellington Headmasters' Association and it was decided that headmasters, with the assistance of. the police, should watch the position very elosely, said a statement issued today by Mir. S. M. Kemp ■ on behalf of the association. Mr. Kemp said members were gravely eoncerned with the growing frequency with which unauthorised ..collections were bemg made by schooi children and SuggeSted that the public make certain that all eollectors were furnished with an offieial authorisation,
