Sheep In, Drain. Following a complaint by the overseer of the Makerua Drainage Board (Mr. P. V. Dairy Stock Improvement. Several dairy herds in the Shannon dairy factory's coLec'Ling axea will benefit by the introduction of fine sires recently purchased by local farmers at the Manawatu spring national stud an'd dairy bull sale, held in Palmerston North last week. Among the higher priced sires was one purchased by Mr. P. J. Cole for., 70gns. Other local " buyers were the Barber Estate, Messrs J. Crystall, s. Auscin,- Bowe Bros., H. A. Seifert, E. F. Parlato, J. Bain, W. C. Higgie, R. H. Charter, H. Coley, S. J. Richardson, and T. E. Harrison. Prices paid ranged from 47gns. to 12gns. Mr. J. J. McErlean of Poplar Road was listed among the vendors.
