PRAGUE, Oet. 15. The Czech Press announced today that police round-ups anl polito-al purges would coutinue "until liostilo elements and iniperialist agents were liquidated. " The gaoling of thousands of people and job disinissals were ollieially attributed to proteeting the nation against "agents of foreign powers" — Western Imperialists and Yugoslavia. For the flrst time sinee the Czech round-up bcgan last month, a report was eireulated today that the arrests ineluded a niember of the Conmninist Partv committee. The ninn said to have been arrested was responsible i'or guiding much of the land and agricultural reform. In France today, the newspaper Pigaro published a letter said to have been written by worker, s in the Czech Skoda works at Pilsen, eondenming the Commnnist regime. The letter, addressed to the Freneh Communists, said manv Skoda workers had been arrest»d oi sent to the mines as foreed labour, for striking against the work and pav svstems. A strike was considered higli treason and punished as sueh. The letter added that there had been whole saie pay reductions of 20 per eent, the ' introduetion of the six-day week and the suppression of holidays.
