Trawler's Record Catch. The, Port Chalmers deep-sea trawler Taiaroa caught 600 cases of fish in two days — a record. About 90 per cent of the catch was terakihi. No Quorum. Because fewer than 50 of its 54,045 members arrived to form a quorum, the Auckland Automobile Association was unable to hol'd its 46th annual meeting. Only 46 members were present and after waiting for about an hour in case the necessary few came late, the' president (Mr. F. G. Farrell) anlounced the meeting adjourned until next week. Typhoid Fever Cases. Two cases of typhoid fever were notified in Auckland yesterday. Both were aduits, They have been admitted to hospital and four other persons living in the same house as one of the victims, have been admitted as suspects. At first, it was mistaken for a sunfish, but a closer look identified it. The killer has a distinctive appearance, toeing about 22 feet long, dark in colour and topped by an erect, triangular fin about four feet high. Wandering- Stock. Awahuri Landmark Burns. The old Awahuri schoolhouse was destroyed by fire just before midnight on Tuesday. Borstal Escapee. A man escaped from the Waikeria Borstal near Te Awamutu at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. He is Cedric John Horton (21). Horton is 5ft 7in tail, has blue eyes and fair hair.
