Record Price For Butter In Suva
A price order issued last week inereased the maximum selling price of New Zealand butter at Suva from 2s 9^d a pound to 3s 2d a pound, and made the usual provision for an additional ld for saies in other areas. This rise of 4^d a pound is due to an increase in the New Zealand f.o.b. price for butter. The new price is the highest on record for New Zealand butter sold in Fiji. The Suva price rose to 3s l^d a pound after the New Zealand currency appreciation in 1948, but this was reduced by 4d in January of this year when import duty was removed.
