O Local owners have been to two meetings over the last two weekends, at Palmerston North and Foxton. In the Progress Hurdles ax Palmerston North Nigger Boy ran a good second for Alr. Roy Cjllis. He was unlueky to be boxed in for two hurdles and could not go after YvTiero, the winner, until the straight was reached. Black Pool Sam had toad luck when, after a comfortable win, a re-run was ordered and the Otaki dog did not stretch out at any part of the re-run and could only nnish second for Mr. P' Brunell. Master Luna ran second to that great Open Hurdler Colombine in the final of the Open Hurdles at Palmerston North and made amends at Foxton to win very comfortatly after giving a grand exhibition of jumping for Mr, Allan Brooks. Palluna. having her first siaxt for three months at Foxton, ran a good second, being bc-aten by a "whisker." In a trial run latei she beat- the same dog by three lengths for Mr. F. Brunell. Lucky Helen ran two seconds at Foxton for Afiss Phyllis Brunell, in the Open Hurdles No. 1 and and the limit Flat, Lady Nahleen turned around in the box just as the door was released and gave Red Glare about eiglit lengths start.
