The practice of dispensing with discounts had become general in Australia and was being „widely adopted, said the managingsecretary (Mr. K. W. Eglinton) in a report to the Manawatu-Oroua Electric Power Board concerning Australian electric power administration. The board had discontinued the allowance of discounts to its eonsumers, and where accoimts were not settled by the •stipulated date the supply to the defaulting eonsumers was cut off. A 5s fee was charged for re-con-nection (10s 6d in Australia).
