Keen Market For Spring Vegetables

Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report at last week's sale that there was a particularly keeii enquiry for cauliflower, lettuce, green peas and pumpkins, the latter reaiising up to 51s per sack. Another line bringing attractive values was broad beans. Consignments of new potatoes are strongly recommended with ceiling prices being the order of the day. Heavy consignments of N.Z. grapefruit slightly reduced values; however, at current rates there is still a keen enquiry. Hothouss tomatoes are arriving more easily and very attractive returns have been shown. Yaxdings of poultry, although heavy, continue to show excellent returns. All spring fiowers are in- keen enquiry and consignments are strongly ie-1 commended.
