Personal. Mrs. A. B. Boyd, of Bell Street, is visiting relatives in Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. J. Stuart, of Kirk Street, have returned from a holiday spent in the South Island. Mr. Geo. Brown, secretary of the Westport Hospital Board, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Elliott, Rangiuru. The death occurred at his home in Palmerston North on Sunday of Mr. Charles Cyrus Cooksley, an erstwhile resident of Otaki, and •brother of Mr. J. D. Cooksley. Deceased had returned from a meeting in his usual good health, but within less . than an hour had passed away. Win Chance Supported. Trained by J. Flanagan, Otaki, Parrish Mills (2/8 in the betting) was successful in the Eastbrook Handicap at the Wanganui trotg on Saturday. Good Time In Hard Race. Fastest ' time in a selective field which contained some of the North Island's best cyclists, in a race from Woodville to Napier on Saturday was secured by C. Bloomfield, late of Otaki. Conditions were severe, with rain and a stiff head wind over the final stages.
