Exceeding the ■ speed limit .of 50 m.p.h. on the open road was the charge preferred against Francis James Deegan, of Levin.. He pleaded guilty and was convicted and fined £2 10s with 10s costs. Charged with being in possession of liquor in the vicinity of a dance hall, J, F. Taratoa and W. Johnson, of Otaki, were each convicted aird fined £3. The charges arose in respect of a dance at Ohau. Costs were 10s on each charge.
