Health Inspector's Report In his report for the three months ending on September, 30, the district health and sanltation inspector, Mr. W. J. Guinan, advised the Shannon Borough Council that he had carried out inspections of four ' habitations, four food selling premises and had made inspections of three plumbing and drainage installations. v Four samples of milk and one of water had been taken during the period. Inspections of the domain, nightsoil site and rub:bish dump were carried out and with the exception of the rubbish dump all were in order. Suggestions for the improvement of the dump were made by the inspector and the council agreed that the works committee carry out an inspection and report back at the next council meeting. Old Identity Passes Shannon lost another of lts old identities With the passing of Mr. Edward L. Richards at the Palmerston North Hospital on Wednesday. The late Mr. Richards was a South African War veteran and was 76 % years of age.. He was an lnmate of the hospital following an aceident some weeks ago. The funeral, which was held yesterday, was largely attended by relatives, friends and members of the R.S.A. The service at the Ven. Bede's Anglican Church and at the graveside was conducted by? the Rev. M. J. S. Wheeler. The many beautiful floral tributes were testimony of the very high esteem in which he was held throughout the district.
