Farewell Presentations
During the past week two local business firms have far'ewelled members of their staffs. In both cases appropriate gatherings were held. •Last Friday evening the management and staff of Messrs W. H. Gunning and Company gathered to bid farewell to Mr. Ivan Seaton, who was leaving to accept another apppointment. Mr, E. J. Gunning spoke on behalf of . the management and extended ' thanks to Mr. SeatOn for his loyal services during the number of years he had been engaged by" the firm, and wished him every sticcess in his new venture. Ha asked Mr. Seaton to accept a small gift as a token of appreciation from the directors. Messrs V, J. Bateman and B, Clayton both spoke on behalf of the staff and said that all would be sorry to see Mr. Seaton leave, and wished him Well in his neW sphere. A presentation was then made by members of the staff. Mr. Seaton, in his brief but fltting reply, said that he had spent many happy hours with the company, and extended his sin- * cere thanks for the good wisheS and gifts from the directors and his fellow work-mates. On Monday afternoon, members of the staff and a representative of the company of the Shannon Dairy Company gathered to farewell Mr. D. Richards who waS terminating his duties as a drivef after over eight years on the staff» Mr. J. Alexander, factory manager, and Mr. I. Hemmingsen, store manager, both spoke of the excellent service fendered the company by Mr. Richards over the long period he was on the staff. Mr, Richards was asked tb accept a gift as a mark of appreciation from the directors and staff. He was the recipient of many good wishes for success in his new position from ihis fellow workers. Mr. Richards esuitably replied.
