Investiture At Government House

WELLINGTON, Oct. 6 Today's investiture at Government House occupied about an hour and a half. With His Excellency on the dais was Lady Freyberg and they were attended by the personal staff. The first trio to receive insignias were Rev. Father J. J. Riordan, S.M., well known for his work over many years for the Maori people, Mr. B. L. Dallard, who recently retired from the position of UnderSecretary of Justice, and Mr. Wiiliam Baird, of Dunedin, all of whom were invested with the Companionship of the Order of St. Michael and St. George. Then followed a procession which took over an hour to pass the dais and in which many walks of life were represented, the Services, as at yesterday's investiture, being prominent.
