The eclipse will begin at about 1 p.m. - (N.Z.S.T.) ,i when the moon will be overhead in i the western Atlantic Ocean, about; 7i degrees south of the equator. The commencement of totality is 2 p.m. It will. be visible in the extreme western parts of Asia, Europe, the ' western parts ' of the In-dian ' Ocean, Africa, the British Isles, Greenland, the Atlantic Ocean, the Arctic and Antarctic regions, North and South America, and the south-easterri paris of. ' the Pacific Ocean. The eclipse will end at 4 p.m., i when it will be . another 2 brs. 47. mins. before the moon rises over the Tararuas at 6.47 ■p.m: On Saturday the moon will be favourably placed for observation, ' and some of the mountain ranges, plains and craters should be visible. : -
